Adam & Eve
A one-off Harris Tweed waistcoat in a small size. It does just fit me and I am a size 38 (medium). More one-off waistcoats of various sizes are in the pipeline. So, if interested, get in touch.
For the front I used an off-white, light to medium thickness, handwoven by myself, authentic Harris Tweed with a very slight fleck to it. The design of the back has an overcheck and was over-dyed with natural indigo plant dye. I must point out that the indigo I use is natural and not a synthetic one. The synthetic one was invented for the jeans industry. Although the process is the same as for natural indigo, the result is subtly different.
Both sides feel soft but the front of the waistcoat is a bit smoother and the back a bit woollier. In order to over-dye the tweed with the indigo one has to soak the cloth in water for it to fully take up the dye. Still, to the touch it feels nice and soft.
The lining is a silk that also has been dyed with indigo. The buttons, which are of the same soft blue colour, are metal.
